JAN 19  The draft was Friday night and we had the best turnout ever.  Little chaotic at times but once the Fireball/Crown was out of my system was able to tally up the teams and present us with a website.  Id like to welcome in all the new 'Undertakers' and congratulate last years Winner Candy and runner up Colin. Candy gets $264 and Colin rakes in $66. This years Champ $336 runner up $84. We had a few glitches (Don Rickles being drafted twice, Ravi Shankar took a dirt nap in Dec 12, Les Pauls been dead since Charlie Sheen was on 2.5 men)) but figured it out and your final team is listed above. You can always go to www,deadoralive.com to check but they still have Delores Hope on the north side of the sod??  Good luck to all, we salute you !llFEB 4 Sorry about the delay, I got sidetracked in Jamaica, but while I was away Folk Legend Pete Seeger died peacefully in a NY Hospital after a brief illness @ age 94.  Known for folk classics "If I had a hammer", "turn, turnturn" and "we shall overcome" So Matt/Rachel are first on the board. January closes with one draft choice gone. RIP Pete SeegerFEB 6 Longtime Mets announcer and host Of Kiner's Korner, Hall of Famer , Ralph Kiner has been called up to the big sandlot in the sky at the age of 91, catapaulting Jimmy into first place!  When he retired he was 3rd all time in HRs...no PEDs then ! Pretty impressive. RIP Ralp !  FEB 11 Only a 5 day break and The Reaper claims another.  Former Childhood Star, Shirley Temple passed away today at the age of 85. She started acting when she was only 3 and retired at the ripe ol age of 22.  She eventually ventured into politics and at one time was the US ambassador to Ghana. hmm .  Colin takes over first as things begin to get rolling .  RIP Shirley Temple.    Feb12  SID Caesar, who is best known as my 3rd round pick last year , passed away today at home In Beverley Hills at the age of 91.  So Paco is on the board.  One of the 1st huge stars of the first generation of TV viewers, sid was also known for quite a few movie roles including The Coach of Rydell High in both Grease movies. If you thought he was already dead , you are correct.  He was the old guy who finally hit the Keno Jackpot at the end of Vegas Vacation and then had a massive heart attck leaving Clark Griswold and family to his recent inheritance.  Hail Caesar !!

3-29 Sorry for the delay but I was still in a state of mourning.  Our beloved perennial #1 pick and the patriarch of Buffalo football passed away on Tuesday.  Missy is the sole recipient of good news because she had Ralph Cookerly Wison jr.  Sounds better as Ralph C. Wilson. Lil bit. 95 yrs old. Thanks Mr. Wilson RIP.

APRIL 28 Sorry for the delay (again)  Stupid Lap Top ! Missy gets #2 with the passing of Silver Screen star Mickey Rooney. A perennial pick finally meets his maker after years of speculation.  Seems I'm typing former child hood star or star of IT's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World every other update. Well Mr. Rooney covers both. RIP Mickey !

May 6 Sorry about the delay once again.  Efraim Zimbalist jr best known for his TV role in the F.B.I. passed away last week at the age of 95. Phil/Sam, one of the new squads get the first ever ! I hope his pic isn't as big as Angry Mickey Rooney !

May 19 Genaro Louis Vitaliano has entered in his final place of rest. Know to all by his Italian Name JERRY VALE. The 83yr old died peacefully w his family by his side in California.  In the early 90s I was his 'bodyguard' at the Italian Fest. Him and fellow Goomba ,Pat Cooper have a long running feud and we stood in the way at Lombardo's so they didn't have eye contact. Sidenote...Kevin's on the board before Memorial Day !!!

JUNE3  Missy is starting to run away with this.  She claims her 3rd with the unfortunate passing of Anne B. Davis AKA Alice from the Brady Brunch.  Alice who was reported in good health died from a hematoma she suffered after she took a spill in her bathroom.  Not sure if this is breaking news but she leaves behind no children, husband or was never linked to anyone romantically (except Sam).  So far this year we've lost The Proffessor, Reuben Kincaid and now Alice !

JAnd its not looking real good for Shaggy these days (Casey Kasem).

JUN 26 Joe P gets his first right before we hit the half way mark.  Veteran actor Eli Wallach passes away at the age of 98.  Was in over 90 films but most famous for being Clint Eastwood's nemesis in a bunch of Spagetti Westerns. Oh and from the Jack Ass files, I drafted Muddy Watters...he died in 1983, so Don't believe evrything you read on the internet(especially deadoralive.com)

8-17 Matt/Rachel get their 2nd when Lauren Bacall passed away few days ago. I would have updated it right away but people keep telling me they go in 3's and Robin Williams was the day before.  Anyways Missy still holds firm grip on 1st place w her 3 picks still in the lead as we enter the last 1/3 of the year.

8-19 OK had to wait a little longer then expected for the 3rd "They go in 3's" But we got one. Legendary SNL announcer Dominic George Pardo  aka Don Pardo passed peacefully at his Tuscon home at the age of 96.  I grabbed him in the early rounds and I'm finally on the board ! woo hoo, BUT RIP Don , thanks for the memories.

8-28 August remains hot for the Ghoul Pool, actor Richard Attenborough passes away at age 90. He injured himself badly after falling during a stroke. His family says he never recovered and John Lobaugh had inside info and selected the Jurrasic Park Grandpa.

10-26 Marcia Strassman passed away at age 66.  Mrs Kotter had been battling cancer for quite some time.  The cast of Welcome Back Kotter has been ghoul pool gold lately.  Probably asbesthos in the sweathog classroom.  Kevin gets his second as we approach the last two months !   DECEMBER 18************ Two weeks left and Missy has a firm grip on the 1st place trophy plus Gordie Howe on the back burner ! Kevin and Matt/Rachel both have 2 but Kevin owns the tiebreaker because of the lower number of years.  Picking Marcia Strassman 3 consecutive drafts finally paid off.  Not a very exciting year , it started strong and then with Ebola attacking our shores, Isis, Justin Bieber driving and this whacky weather, then  it calms down ! Hmmm.  Draft officially ends 12-31-14 2359.59 hours. Good Luck and Merry Christmas.  Fell free to peruse our web site and pay homage to the celeberiteis that we lost this year( like the Oscars !) FINAL STATS Jim  was able to get our last name off the board with the passing of Academy Award nominated actress Luise Ranier BUT his 2nd pick although tied him for 2nd place ,Kevin takes it w the tie breaker. His combined age of 149 wasnt even close to the others who tied him. $84 smackers coming his way which is pale in comparison to MISSY , our champion undertaker $336 ! See you JANUARY 10 GABELS for 2015 ...get your list ready !
